SUBJECT: HAWAI‘I REVISED STATUTES § 6E-10 BUILDING OWNER: LOCATION: TAX MAP KEY: - - -
Per Hawai‘i Revised Statutes § 6E-10 relating to historic preservation, no construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement that affects a historic property on the Hawai‘i register of historic places shall occur until after the State of Hawai‘i Department of Land
and Natural Resources State Historic Preservation Division (DLNR-SHPD) has
concurred with the proposed construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement:
(a) Before any construction, alteration, disposition or improvement of any nature, by, for, or permitted by a private landowner may be commenced which will
affect an historic property on the Hawaii register of historic places, the
landowner shall notify the department of the construction, alteration,
disposition, or improvement of any nature and allow the department opportunity for review of the effect of the proposed construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement of any nature on the historic property. The proposed construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement of any nature
shall not be commenced, or in the event that it has already begun, continue,
until the department (DLNR-SHPD) has given its concurrence, or ninety days have elapsed.
Before starting the building permit process, the owner or the engineer/architect must certify to the above-mentioned section.
CERTIFICATION
I certify that the subject project conforms with the applicable Historic Property requirements: Building is listed on the Hawai‘i or National Register of Historic Places with approval letter from DLNR-SHPD attached.
DLNR-SHPD has reviewed and concurred with the proposed construction, alteration, disposition, or improvement.
