Re: SMA 21-000078/Applicant Jekaterina Mysin
Petition for Standing In A contested Case Hearing
Application Dated May 24, 2021
As a neighbor directly across AIN Drive from the proposed project, we are severely&dangerously
impacted by this development as it compounds the already existing safety hazards along AIN
Drive. As a direct neighbor, we are severely impacted by a 5 story, steel and glass unsightly
monolith.
The proposed development on a 9,934 square foot lot, does not provide the necessary parking
for its size and density. Placement of the driveway into the project is limited due to the fire
hydrant near its north boundary and the private drive/shoreline access at its south boundary.
The project overflow parking is going to extend onto Alii Drive and it's going to be a congested
mess. The County cannot allow developers to take advantage of public property for parking at
the public's expense. This overflow will prohibit safe access and use of our shoreline....forever.
This "mess" of overflow parking and activity will directly & severely impact us as a neighboring
property.
Evacuation of Alii Drive is impossible. Until adequate evacuation measures are taken to secure
the safety of the community, developments along Alii Drive cannot be approved. We, as property
owners along AIN Drive and as a direct neighbor to the proposed development, which WILL
increase density to the area, are directly impacted by the lack of adequate evacuation routes.
Our safety and welfare is directly affected by this project.
As property owners along Alii Drive Scenic Byway and the "Royal Footsteps Along the Kona
Coast", we have worked hard to preserve and develop our property in keeping with the cultural,
historical and special management area values. This unsightly monolith is an eyesore to the
surrounding community and shows no sensitivity to these values. It will remain an open wound
and impact generations to come. As a neighboring property we will be forever and irreversibly
affected by the approval of this project.
Sincerely,
t
