Request: To Allow an Upgrade to an Existing Telecommunication Facility,
Including Replacement of an Existing 73'-6" Wood Pole with a
New 73'-6" Steel Monopole and Equipment Compound

Sorry for the delay. We have reviewed the subject request forwarded by your memo
dated October 11, 2024 and have the following comments:
1 . The subject parcel is in an area designated as Zone X on the Flood Insurance Rate
Map (FIRM) by the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA). Zone X is an
area determined to be outside the 500-year floodplain.
2. All development-generated runoff shall be disposed of on site and not directed toward
any adjacent properties. A drainage study shall be prepared and the recommended
drainage system shall be constructed meeting the approval of the Department of
Public Works, Engineering Division.
3. All earthwork and grading shall conform to Chapter 10, Erosion and Sediment Control,
of the Hawaii County Code (HCC).
4. Construction within the County right-of-way shall comply with HCC, Chapter 22,
County Streets.
