NOMINATION FOR CHAIR AND VICE CHAIR FOR 2025 5. COMMISSIONER’S DISTRICT REPORTS: a. Each Commissioner will provide updates and share concerns about their respective districts; Commissioners to decide on whether to add those topics at the next meeting and to invite the public, to provide testimonies and presentations at their meeting. Permitted Interaction Groups may be created at this time. There will otherwise be no discussion or voting, which will be reserved for when it is itemized on a future agenda. i. Commissioners to also provide updates on the tilapia as invasive species. 6. PRESENTATIONS: a. Blake McNaughton, President, Makahanaloa Fishing Association, presenting, “The Association Public Access and Assistance from the County for Fishing and Gathering: County Easement and Access”. b. Lauren Turnbaugh Foo, Co-Founder of Aloha Animal Alliance, presenting “The Feral Cat Problem in Liliuokalani Gardens, Banyan Drive, and Community At-Large.” c. K. T. Cannon-Eger, President, Friends of Liliuokalani Gardens, a non-profit, presenting, “the feral cat problem in Liliuokalani Gardens and Bayan Drive and the community”. 7. NEW BUSINESS: a. Commissioner Leomana Turalde: Introduction of the Mana Aina Award (GMAC) to honor outstanding individuals or groups who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to support the hunter-gatherer community and protecting our natural resources. This award recognizes efforts that embody the spirit of stewardship and respect for the land and community. 8. OLD BUSINESS: a. Budget: Discussion on allocation of budget and use for upcoming legislative sessions. b. Discussion and Decision Making: Draft GMAC 2024 First Quarter Report to Mayor and County Council, Commissioner Robert Duerr. c. ADJOURNMENT Executive Session: This Commission anticipates it may convene in one or more executive sessions regarding the above matters listed on the agenda, pursuant to HRS Sections 92-4 and 92-5 (a)(4), for the purpose of consulting with the Board’s attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the Commission’s powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities. A two-thirds (2/3) vote pursuant to Hawai‘i Revised Statute Section 92-4 is necessary to hold an executive session. Executive sessions are closed to the public. Note: This meeting shall be automatically recessed for up to 30 minutes to restore communication when audiovisual communication cannot be maintained with all Commission members participating in the meeting or with the “in-person” location identified in this agenda. This meeting may be in-person when either audiovisual communication is restored, or audio-only communication is established after an unsuccessful attempt to restore audiovisual communication. If it is not possible to reconvene the meeting as provided in this subsection within 30 minutes after an interruption to communication, the remaining items on this agenda shall be continued to the next meeting.
