What is the long-range goal or vision for the property?
THE RESTORATION, PRESERVATION,AND CURATORSHIP OF THE NATURAL,
CULTURAL,AND ECOLOGICAL RESOURCES OF KAWA BAY AND SURROUNDING WAHI
PANA IS THE LONG-RANGE GOAL FOR THE PROPERTY. NMOK'S VISION IS THE
COMPLETE REVITALIZATION AND REPLENISHMENT OF THE NATURAUCULTURAL
ECOSYSTEMS THAT HAD EXISTED AT KAWA FOR HUNDREDS OF YEARS. NMOK SEEKS
TO MANIFEST ITS VISION THROUGH PARTNERING WITH THE COUNTY AND OTHER
STAKEHOLDERS IN PERPETUATION OF THEIR SHARED OBJECTIVES FOR THIS
CRITICAL COMMUNITY TREASURE.

NMOK'S KAWA PROJECTS ALIGN WITH THE KAU COMMUNITY CDP'S GOALS AND
OBJECTIVES AS THEY RELATE TO OPEN SPACE AND NATURAL RECOURSE
MANAGEMENT AND CONSERVATION. THE PONC PROGRAM ITSELF ALIGNS WITH THE
COUNTY GENERAL PLAN AND THE KAU CDP AND NMOK'S PROJECT IS DIRECTLY
CONGRUENT WITH ALL APPLICABLE GENERAL AND SPECIFIC PLANS.
THE KAWA MANAGEMENT PLAN WAS DEVELOPED IN CONSULATATION WITH NMOK
LEADERS AND MEMBERS AND SPECIFICALLY IDENTIFIES NMOK AS A COMMUNITY
GROUP WITH A VISION THAT PARALLELS THAT OF THE COUNTY AND KAWA
STAKEHOLDERS.

NA MAMO O KAWA'S ("NMOK") KAWA WAS INCORPORATED DECEMBER 1, 2013 AND
NMOK'S STEWARDSHIP PROJECT HAS PROVIDED COMPREHENSIVE PROPERTY AND
RESOURCE MANAGEMENT SERVICES ON PONC LANDS AT KAWA BAY AND
SURROUNDING AREAS SINCE NOVEMBER 2012.
NMOK IS A TAX-EXEMPT NON-PROFIT DOMESTIC CORPORATION AND HAS BEEN A
RECIPIENT OF PONC MAINTANANCE FUNDS SINCE 2018.
