To whom it may concern-
I was recently lucky enough to participate in the Falls on Fire event that took place in 2024. I
am writing to express my deepest and sincerest support for this event and to encourage you to
consider the various benefits this event offers our community.
First,this event is important for local artists and performers. By providing a safe space for
artistic experimentation, this event allows for networking, and promotes collaboration between
artists. This develops and elevates the practice and expression of local art, elevating the
cultural contribution of Hawaii to the world.
Second, this event is important socially to our community. The dance community is an
important part of the community at large. It is a group that includes professionals of all kinds,
people who work hard in their lives to support the infrastructure of our community. We
deserve a safe local place to experience the communion of dance and art. These are not
thoughtless unappreciative or destructive people. These are creators, healers, artists,
educators... people who in fact care deeply for this place and the people in it.
I would like to share a personal example of how this event positively impacted my life and the
wellbeing of my community. Through networking at this event I've enriched my own life, I've
connected with people who are in my neighborhood, and experienced the true flowing of
aloha. This event embodies the state spirit fully and whole heartedly.
