MEETING MINUTES
Wednesday, December 18, 2024
I. CALL TO ORDER
Shana Kukila called the meeting to order at 11:43am.
II. ROLL CALL
Present: Shana Kukila, Andrew Langtry, Farrah-Marie Gomes, Evelyn Kahea
Lee, Christen Zulli, Jennifer Stotter (ex-officio), Micah Alameda (ex-officio),
Inha Kandatsu-Kang (ex-officio), and Rachel Strauss (ex-officio)

A. Inquiries for Directories
a. Full Life requesting to be included.
b. University of Hawaii requesting directories.
c. Hawaii County Economic Opportunity Council requesting update to
their information.
d. Pouhana invited CSW as a vendor for an event in January 2025.

VII. REPORTS
A. Hawaii State CSW (HSCSW) liaison report
a. Advertising and participate in sign waving for DV awareness month
and vigil. Lots of outreach in Keaau signwaving. Handed out
materials at DV vigil, raising awareness of State CSW. Network
with Claudia Wilcox from HawCC who has efforts planned in
Spring, including inviting Nikki Cristobal back to provide an update
on next phase of study.

b. Llasmin Chaine started December 6, previously at Sexual Abuse
Treatment Center and DOH CAMHD. Advertising for administrative
assistant.
c. Farrah shared that the State CSW has previously made funding
available to County CSWs. If this is to continue, the County CSW
would like to receive the request with ample time for meeting,
voting and procurement.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS
A. Real Women's Essay Contest for 2025: Brief discussion on the history of
the contest regularly performed by VSW and direction of the project
moving forward the local schools. There is interest of the CSW to
continue som j roject. More discussion needed.

iii. Vote: New CSW Brochure Design and Project Rationale
1. Christen motioned, Andrew seconded. Motion passed.
iv. Vote: Letter of invite from CSW to new Mayor
1. Components of letter to include invitation to attend
upcoming CSW meeting, background of CSW, current
updates of CSW activities, future plans, ask for Mayor's
thoughts on plan for Hawaii County relating to CSW
involvement and how to better care for women and
children.
2. Christen motioned to include that chair and two secretaries
are given the authority to write and send the letter before
the next CSW meeting, Kahea seconded. Motion passed.

B. Legislative/Advocacy Sub-Committee
i. Vote: Opening Day at the Legislature 2025 Travel Project
Rationale
1. Farrah motioned to approve total expenses not to exceed
$1,000 for all travelers. This can include airfare, ground
transportation, parking, meals and lodging, as necessary.
Kahea seconded. Motion passed.
ii. Missing Murdered Native Hawaiian Women and Girls
(MMNHWG): A Legislative task force run by HSCSW. — Tabled
