Project Rationale
I. Project Rationale
A. The County of Hawaii Committee on the Status of Women’s mission is to advocate for
the rights of women on the Island of Hawaii and to support and provide services and
programs that help to empower women.
B. It shall aid in the implementation of its recommendations, develop long-range goals,
and coordinate research, planning, programming, and action on the opportunities,
needs, problems, and contributions of women in:
1. civil and legal rights;
2. education;
3. labor and employment;
4. expanded community horizons and political awareness.
C. Providing training to help women identify their working genius and the working genius
of others on their team to be able to develop and operate as highly efficient and
effective teams. Initially, all sessions will be held by zoom so that geography and travel
are not barriers to participation. Dr. Gomes is a certified trainer in the Working Genius
program. She is willing to provide the training for free for up to 100 women on Hawaii
Island. Each assessment costs $25, so by the CSW covering the cost of the assessments,
that removes the additional barrier of cost for some residents who might otherwise not
be able to participate.
II. Project Budget
A. $25 per assessment x 100 assessments
B. Total Budget: not to exceed $2,500
