Call to Order — NO QUORUM — Meeting was not called to order
• Newly elected Chairman Highly could not call the meeting to order since there was
no quorum — (8) members present and (9) are needed.
ANNOUNCEMENT - VETERANS CEMETERY III — WEST HAWAII
(Reforestation Project)
Dr. Richard Stevens announced that the next major planting at the West Hawaii Veterans
Cemetery III is scheduled for Saturday, January 28th from 8 am to 11 am and invited
everyone to participate.

He also announced that Council Member Virginia Isbell would like to grant additional
funds of $11,092.00 to cover the three ohia post signs for the project. She invites
supporters to be at the Council meeting next Thursday for that agenda item.
VETERANS CEMETERY III — WEST HAWAII — FLAG POLE LIGHTING
Chairman Richard Highley announced that they are still working with solar company and
HELCO on installing the flag pole light at the West Hawaii Veterans Cemetery.
VETERANS CEMETERIES I AND II - COLUMBARIUMS
Chairman Highley read the letter he will send to the state Office of Veterans Services
requesting that they make improvements to the columbariums at Veterans Cemeteries I
and IL This item was approved at the November 17, 2005 meeting. Chairman Highley
will travel to Oahu next week and try to discuss this matter with OVS staff and suggest a
columbarium be installed at Veterans Cemetery II as soon as possible to save space being
used for urn burials.
NEXT MEETING
The next meeting will be held on Thursday, February 16, 2006 at 3:00 p.m. in the
Hawaii County Councilroom and video - conferencing at the Kona Mayor's Office.
