I am emailing in support of the development of Mailani Development by
Mr. Charles Umemoto. When Mr. Umemoto bought the property from the
previous owners (Kubo) his intent was to keep the lots behind me and it
wasn't going to be sold. At that point, I was in contact with him. I have
expressed interest numerous times that if things changed and he decided
to sell, to please let me know because I was interested in the property
directly behind me. Well, things did change and he did let me know that
he was going to subdivide and sell. I would have been very happy if he was
going to be my neighbor. As it stands now with the neighborhood being so
invested in New Years fireworks (bombs and such) I need this property to
safeguard my house, have peace of mind because I am not a fan of
bombs, and need to keep my dogs safe and calm.
My only concern is when they start to bulldozer again to make the lots
"finished graded form, ready....to build a home" using Mr. Sidney Fuke's
words I would hope they protect the houses from all the dirt that gets
airborne and lands on the walls, screens and windows of the existing
houses on Lei Lehua Street. As houses get built, noise (hammering,
sawing, loud music, talk) is something our neighborhood will have to deal
with.
