Aloha Leeward Planning Commissioners,
I am writing in opposition to yet another extension of time - 10 years this time! - of this
proposed resort development. The original rezone is from 2009. Enough. If anything should bebuilt, how about building true affordable and workforce housing?
And isn't this type of extension exactly what caused the County Council to approve (and then
override then-Mayor Roth's veto of), Ordinance 23-38? There seems to be no end to applicantsbeing vexed by "vagaries of the global economy," archeological requirements, et cetera, that
drag projects on from their original approval dates.
Please, just stop. No more extensions, especially of resort developments in the SpecialManagement Area.
