POLICE COMMISSION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN of a public hearing to be held by the Hawaii County Police
Commission in accordance with the provisions of Chapter 91 of the Hawaii Revised Statutes.
Date: October 21, 2005
Time: 9:00 a.m.
Place: Department of Liquor Control Conference Room
75 -5722 Hanama Place, Suite 103, Kailua -Kona
The purpose of the public hearing is to afford all persons the opportunity to submit data,
views, or arguments, orally or in writing, to the Police Commission for its consideration prior
to the adoption of the proposed amendments to its rules and regulations as summarized below.
All written comments should be filed with the Hawaii County Police Commission at 25Aupuni
Street, Room 200, Hilo, HI 96720, by October 12, 2005.
The following is a summary of the substantive changes proposed by the Police Commission:
The commission shall submit an annual report to the managing director
along with the mayor and council.
The regular meeting of the commission shall be on the third Friday of the
month at 9:00 a.m.
There will be two classifications of case findings: (1) Sufficient Evidence,
there is sufficient evidence to support the complainant's allegation and (2)
Insufficient Evidence, there is insufficient evidence to either prove or
disprove the complainant's allegations.
The proposed amended rules may be reviewed in person or a copy obtained at the office of the
Hawaii County Police Commission, 25Aupuni St., Rm. 200, Hilo, HI 96720; Monday
through Friday, 7:45 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Interested persons may also call the Police
Commission at (808) 961 -8412 to have a copy mailed to them.
