Office of Housing and Community Development Newsletter After the COVID-19 pandemic caused disruptions for two plus years, I am pleased to share that the Office of Housing and Community Development (OHCD) is back to normal operations. The OHCD staff is here to help applicants, residents, property owners, and advocates to learn and navigate various housing programs. I encourage anyone with a question to contact our office. FREE Confidential Financial Counseling Reporting Income or Family Changes Families are required to report any change in income (increase or decrease) within 30 days. Also, any changes to a household composition, must be reported within 30 days. These changes must be reported in writing. If the family is eligible and approved, they could receive assistance towards their monthly mortgage payment instead of assistance with monthly rental payments. Available for first home purchases. A 6 month or 1 year lease is the most common that we see. You may indicate in the lease that it will automatically roll into a month-to-month lease after the initial lease expires. Or an entirely new lease agreement can be done prior to expiration. Participants of the Housing Choice Voucher Program, may apply for the FSS Program. The FSS Program is designed to assist participants who are committed to achieving economic self sufficiency. Many landlords, realtors, resident managers, property managers, AOAO Board members and the general public attended.
