CALL TO ORDER AND ROLL CALL II. STATEMENTS FROM THE PUBLIC ON AGENDA ITEMS Public statements must be related to items specifically listed on this agenda. Statements may be provided at the start of the meeting or when the specific agenda item is called. Testifiers are limited to a maximum of five (5) minutes. III. DISCUSSION REGARDING SELECTION OF THE POLICE CHIEF The Commission will discuss and possibly make decisions regarding any remaining aspects of the selection process, including any remaining issues raised at the Commission meeting held on January 29, 2026. The Commission may enter a closed executive session under HRS §§ 92-4 and 92- 5(a)(4) to consult with the board's attorney on questions and issues pertaining to the board's powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities related to the selection process of the Police Chief. IV. POLICE CHIEF INTERVIEWS The Commission will interview the candidates for the position of Chief of Police, listed below in alphabetical order: Hawai`i County is an Equal Opportunity Provider and Employer. SELECTION OF POLICE CHIEF The Commission will discuss and decide which candidate is the best fit for Chief of Police, which includes a conditional offer of employment to the chosen candidate. VI. AGENDA ITEMS FOR NEXT MEETING Consideration of items to be placed on the upcoming agenda. VII. ANNOUNCEMENTS The next regular meeting is scheduled for Friday, February 20, at 9.00 a.m., at the County Building, Council Chambers, Suite 1401, 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, HI. VIII. Please submit written testimony by 12:00 noon, two business days before the meeting. Oral Testimony: Testimony must be related to an item on the agenda. The Commission will hear public testimony at the beginning of the meeting or when the respective agenda item is called, or as allowed at the sole discretion of the chair.
