• Annual Performance Evaluation of Police Chief Lawrence K. Mahuna.
EXECUTIVE SESSION
To consider the hire of an employee where consideration of matters affecting privacy will be involved
and to consult with Corporation Counsel on questions and issues pertaining to the commission's
powers, duties, privileges, immunities, and liabilities pursuant to HRS 92 -5 (a) (2), (4) and Hawaii
County Charter Section 13 -20 (b).
• Chief of Police Selection Process, including but not limited to interview of candidates
Chadwick Fukui and Harry Kubojiri; review of selection procedures, written testimonies,
records, and documents; and deliberation.
SELECTION OF CHIEF OF POLICE
The Police Commission has a follow -up meeting scheduled for December 10, 2008, in the event the
interview process is not completed, or if follow -up interviews are necessary. However, the Police
Commission may deliberate on the selection of the Chief of Police and may make a decision on
December 3, 2008, and the December 10, 2008, meeting date may be deemed not necessary.
