SALE OF USED EQUIPMENT AND VEHICLES
The County of Hawai‘i will open sealed bids for the sale of used vehicles and equipment on Tuesday,
April 21, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the Treasury Division Office, #1102 of the Hawai‘i County Building, located
at 25 Aupuni Street, Hilo, Hawai‘i 96720.
The items offered for sale will be sold “AS IS” and “WHERE IS” and the
County issues NO WARRANTY to the highest bidder. Items listed as
“Junked Vehicles” are FOR PARTS ONLY and that no new title will be
given. Successful bidders will be notified by telephone beginning Thursday,
April 23, 2026 and must pay the outstanding balance and remove all auction
items within seven (7) days, by 2:30 pm on Friday, May 1, 2026, or forfeit
their deposit. Any bidder defaulting on the payment will be rejected and the
next highest bidder will be awarded the bid.

Bidders must use the bid form, deposit twenty five percent (25%) of the bid price in cash or draft drawn on
a financial institution (cashier’s check, traveler’s check, money order) payable to the Director of Finance,
County of Hawai‘i, with their sealed bid. Personal checks and/or debit/credit cards will not be accepted
for the deposit payment. Bids must be at or above the upset price and will be accepted in whole dollars
only.
Only signed bids will be accepted. Any bidder defaulting on the payment or cancelling their bid after the
bids are opened shall forfeit their deposit. Bid deposits of unsuccessful bidders will be refunded beginning
Thursday, April 23 to Friday, April 24, 2026 in the Treasury Division Office of the County Building,
located at 25 Aupuni Street, Suite #1102, Hilo, Hawai‘i. Bid deposits of successful bidders will be applied
to the bid price. In the event of a tie bid, the award will be determined by the date and time of bid receipt.
All sales consummated will be final and not subject to cancellation or refund. The Director of
Finance reserves the right to reject any or all bids, and to waive minor defects in bidding.
Upon acceptance and payment of the bid, the purchasers will be required to remove the items at their cost
by Friday, May 1, 2026, or forfeit the payment and the purchased items. Items removed shall not be
relocated to any public/private roads, business area, parking lots, etc.
Bidders must submit bids to the Treasury Division Office of the County Building, located at 25 Aupuni
Street, Suite #1102, Hilo, Hawai‘i, prior to 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026. Bids that are mailed
must arrive in the Treasury Division Office before 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 21, 2026; bids received
after that will be returned unopened to bidders. Bidders shall be solely responsible for the timely arrival of
the bid. Envelopes should be clearly labeled “BIDS FOR USED VEHICLES AND EQUIPMENT.”
Items are located at the following location as specified and numbered as it is listed. Items may be viewed
during the hours of 8:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. weekdays from April 7th to April 20th at the following location:
• DPW Automotive Division - 630 E. Lanikaula Street
