Pets need proper nutrition based on their size and breed. Pets should be fed daily. If tethered, need to ensure they can reach their water. Dehydration can occur quickly in our climate. Access to protection from wind, rain, or sun "Pet animal" means a dog, cat, domesticated rabbit, guinea pig, domesticated pig, or certain species of caged birds so long as not bred for consumption. "Equine animal" means a horse, donkey, mule, zebra, hinny, pony. The State recognizes equine animals are more akin to pet animals than livestock and as such some protections afforded to pet animals have been extended to equine animals.
