Services We Provide:
Intake of stray dogs.
Intake of injured and ill animals.
Intake of dangerous dogs.
Intake of animals associated with Hawai‛i Police Department
and the Sheriff Division cases, such as owner arrests, owner
deaths, evictions, hospitalized owners, cruelty cases, and
dangerous dog cases.
Intake of owner surrendered animals as space allows.
Investigations of barking dog complaints.
Investigations of animal cruelty and neglect.
Investigations of straying dogs.
Loaning of humane traps for the containment of dogs and
cats. We do not provide traps for pigs, chickens, or mongoose.
Who We Are:
We are a County of Hawai‛i department that began service in
July 2023.
We work closely with County and State departments and
non-profit organizations.
Our hours of operation are 7:45AM - 4:30PM every day.
We provide after-hours services for active emergencies by
partnering with HPD for dispatching.
Our shelters are not open to the public and can be accessed
by appointment only.
