Aloha Commissioners,
I trust you got the gist from the Subject line, but to elaborate…
I am a Big Island resident and I am ENTHUSIASTICALLY OPPOSED to Tappy Mountain LLC’s special permit
application to host a multi-day event on Hawai’i County ag land in Papaikou.
First it sets a terrible precedent for allowing (mis)use of our county’s precious aina.
Second these buggahs have been illegally running this festival for years and only applied for the permit when people
complained.
Third, the actual residents do not want this festival and the riff-raff that are sponsoring and promoting it nor the riff-
raff that will attend it.
Fourth, the applicants are delinquent on the fines from their prior unpermitted use.
Sixth, they are lying about the event being limited to less than 15 acres of the 1,400-acre parcel. Even if they
intended to limit access to the remainder of the property, which is unlikely, it would be virtually impossible to do so
for an event of the nature proposed.
PLEASE deny the permit, period, full stop.
