Aloha,
I am a property owner who has run an Airbnb on my AG designated property for over 10 years.
I have never had a complaint from my neighbors. Especially as this has subsidized repair and maintenance of our private gravel road.
I am very concerned about the vague wording in Bill 147 concerning who is practicing "Legitimate Agriculture". Will an inspector be coming out to make a subjective decision on
whether my "Hobby Farm" is politically correct? Or will only large scale commercial farms be approved?
An AG designation used to mean that we had the freedom to raise chickens, horses, crops, etc.
Will this now become restrictive to what we can actually do? My gourmet mushroom business is in it's infancy, and not likely to produce big receipts in the near future. Does mean
I can't do my dream? My TVR is helping subsidize that dream. Being rezoned, would not be good for my business. And we are pretty much in the dark as
to when these new regulations would take effect. Some sort of notification to the people affected would be greatly appreciated.
Please focus on clarity for us all. Mahalo for your Consideration.
