Public Testimony: Subject: SUPPORT Waikoloa Greens LLC
Aloha, Commissioners,
On behalf of the Waikōloa Village Association, I am writing to express our collective support for the proposed
development by Waikōloa Green LLC in Waikōloa Village. As the representative body of our community, the
Association takes seriously its responsibility to advocate for projects that reflect the needs, values, and long-term
vision of Waikōloa's residents — and this project meets that standard.
We have observed Waikōloa Green's continued commitment to our community over time, and we appreciate the
thoughtful, long-term approach they have brought to planning this project. Their vision for this development serves as
an important community connection point, linking Waikōloa Village with Kona, Hilo, Waimea, and the surrounding
communities. This is precisely the kind of project that reinforces Waikōloa's growing role as a vibrant and strategically
positioned hub on Hawai'i Island — one that bridges the economic and social fabric of the entire island.
Housing availability remains one of the most pressing needs facing our community. Waikōloa Village continues to
grow, and families across South Kohala and the broader island need quality, accessible housing options. We are
encouraged by Waikōloa Green's planning efforts to address this need thoughtfully and responsibly. Their approach
reflects a genuine consideration of what our island's community requires — not just in terms of units and density, but
in how new development can serve and strengthen existing neighborhoods for generations to come.
The Waikōloa Village Association respectfully urges the Leeward Planning Commission to advance and support this
project. We are confident that Waikōloa Green shares our commitment to responsible, community-centered
development — and we look forward to welcoming them as neighbors and long-term partners in the growth of
Waikōloa Village.
Mahalo nui loa for your time and your dedicated service to our community.
