2026 LIQUOR EXAMINATION SCHEDULE
A completed Appointment of Persons in Active Charge of the Premises form is required to sign up employees
for the liquor examination. Direct all inquiries to cohdlc@hawaiicounty.gov or Hilo Office (808) 961-8218.
After you submit the completed form, you will be sent confirmation of the session date and time via email or phone.
Notify your employees that:
Sessions are at least 2 hours (includes a workshop and exam).
In-person registration starts 30 minutes prior to session time.
A $2.00 fee will be collected for the liquor card. Cash only, bring exact change.
Valid government-issued photo ID must be presented at the time of registration.
Employees age 18 -20 may attend if space is available but cannot be a Person In Active Charge.
For parking in the Hilo Lagoon parking lot, have your license plate number at registration.

We recommend employees prepare for the exam by reviewing the Rules of the Liquor Commission of the County
of Hawai‘i ($9.20) and Chapter 281 of the Hawai‘i Revised Statutes ($6.60). Hardcopies may be purchased at the
Hilo office, or available free for download on our website http://www.hawaiicounty.gov/liquor-control/.
