Aloha,
Please vote to table Bill 147 until Hawaii County figures out how to implement the related Ordinance 25-50 that was
to take effect December 1, 2026, but has been delayed until July 1, 2026. Now, shortly before egregious fines kick in
for noncompliance there has been no communication to existing TA tax collector/payers about it. I recently called
Heather Kimball’s office about it and was told to call Planning or Finance. Finance says to call Planning and Planning
says to call Finance.
Please, no more short term vacation laws until the County repeals or figures out hot to implement the latest one—
and then give it a year to see how it works before considering a new related law.
