Aloha Chair Au and Members of the Leeward Planning Commission,
My name is Billy Lee, and I am writing in strong support of Kona Aerial Gymnastic Team,
Inc.’s request for a 12-month extension to its Special Use Permit.
My daughter, Billie Rae Lee, is a member of Kona Aerials, and I have seen firsthand the
positive impact the organization has on our keiki and the Kona community. The gym providesa safe, positive environment where children develop not only physical skills, but also
important values such as hard work, dedication, teamwork, leadership, and perseverance.
The operators are dedicated and compassionate community leaders who have made a
meaningful investment in the children and families they serve. They have also demonstratedgood-faith efforts toward complying with the Special Use Permit and are actively working to
complete the permitting process.
I respectfully ask the Commission to approve the 12-month extension. Doing so will allow
Kona Aerials to continue providing an important community benefit while giving theoperators the necessary time to complete the required permitting.
