Aloha Leeward Planning Commission members:
I, John Wassell, am writing in SUPPORT of Bill 170 with some reservations.
I support the purpose of Bill 170 Section 1. It says we want to define what Data
Centers are and Control their impact on our communities.
However, I REJECT the planning department’s recommendation regarding Data
Centers. It seems to be attempting to create regulations around Data Centers when
we are still working on defining what they are.
Furthermore, Bill 170 needs an amendment to create a definition of Data Centers that
will help differentiate it from Data Processing Centers.
Your time and attention to this matter are very important for our precious island
community.
