Aloha,
I am writing on behalf of the proposed Bill 170, which would allow Hawaii County land to be zoned for data center
use. I am a citizen, a parent of young children and a public school teacher on this island and my heart sinks to my
stomach when I imagine the beautiful resources of our island to be wasted on a data center that does nothing to
improve the education of our keiki. The mentality of faster and more efficient in the effort to increase productivity
has no place on land that lives on island time. I have see our youth rely far too heavy on technologies and AI,
unknowingly handing over their future jobs and natural resources.
Please do not allow this type of zoning on our beautiful lands.
