Subject: Bill 170: data centers on Hawaii Island

Aloha Leeward Planning Commission members:
I am honored to submit my testimony to make a plea for our
'aina. I hold in my heart the belief that we do not inherit the earth
from our ancestors, we borrow it from our children.
It is my understanding that Bill 170 calls for the definition of Data
Centers & not permitting their use in Hawaii County. The definition
of Data Centers allows a clear understanding of what they are,
thus differentiating them from Data Processing Centers. We would
serve the ancestors and children better in ways to prevent further
climate change. We must be diligent in disallowing any more
cockroaching of our 'aina. In our diligence to preserve the dignity
of Hawaii, we have an opportunity to be a role model for higher
levels of government.
Mahalo for taking to heart my testimony.
