AAC members: Vice Chairperson Jan Anderson, Michael Kraus, Sharron Stanbro
& Esther Imamura (Planning staff)
CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to order at 10:20 am.
ACCEPTANCE OF MINUTES
The minutes of the June 21, 2007 meeting was not available.
PUBLIC STATEMENTS
None.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS
1.Status on the proposals to submit Grant Requests to Kaulunani Council Î M. Kraus.
Work is still continuing on the grant proposals.
2.Status on the Exceptional Tree Assessment Protocol Î J. AndersonKraus.
Work is still in progress.
3.Removal of the KokiÒo Tree at Manuka State Park from the list of Exceptional Trees.
E. Imamura distributed a July 3, 2007 letter from the State of Hawaii, Department of Land
and Natural Resources requesting that the recently deceased Kokio and Ohe (Numbers 3
and 4) be removed from the list of Exceptional Trees. S. Stanbro moved and M. Kraus
seconded the motion to accept the StateÓs letter of removal, written on July 3, 2007 and
received on July 10, 2007. Motion to remove the trees from the list carried.
4.Recruitment to Fill Vacancy on the Committee.
E. Imamura stated that, at this point, the vacancy can be filled from any district. However,
members agreed that it would be nice to have a cross section of the island, and mentioned
that we do not have any member from the Waimea or Kau area. S. Stanbro is in contact with
the Kona Outdoor Circle. E. Imamura will forward the application form to members.
NEW BUSINESS
None.
ADMINISTRATIVE MATTERS
Due to the schedule of J. Anderson, it was agreed by all that,
be held on Wednesdays at 10:00 am instead of Thursdays.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, August 22, 2007 in the Planning Department
Conference Room at 10:00 am.
ADJOURNMENT
The meeting adjourned at 10:20 am.
