Aloha,
I am writing to urge the council to oppose Bill 170 as my understanding of the bill is that it would open the
way for the development of AI Data Centers on Hawaiʻi island. I am absolutely opposed to this as the
data centers use an incredible amount of water and electricity at a time when we need to conserve water
and move toward less fossil fuel consumption. AI data centers are running in the wrong direction when it
comes to addressing climate change and natural resource management.
