Location
Applicant’s Request
•The Applicant is requesting a Special Permit to
establish a one-bedroom Bed and Breakfast within an
existing ‘ohana dwelling, accommodating a maximum
of 2 guests.
•The Applicant resides full-time in the farm dwelling
and accordingly, the proposed use would operate as a
bed and breakfast under applicable Hawaiʻi County
regulations.
Reason for Request
•The requested Special Permit would allow the
property owner to generate limited supplemental
income to help offset costs associated with
maintaining the property, including building
upkeep, landscaping, utilities, insurance,
agricultural improvements, and general land
stewardship.
•The proposed use would maintain the property’s
primary residential and agricultural character.
