COMMUNICATIONS a.Communication No. 2008-110: Letter from Renee Schoen to Dan A. Cole dated November 26, 2008, informing him that the Board is unable to hear his petition as submitted. b.Communication No. 2008-113: Letter from Dan A. Cole to Renee Schoen dated December 1, 2008, in response to her November 26, 2008, letter. c.Communication No. 2008-111:Open Line, a publication of the Office of Information Practices, November 2008. 5. NEW BUSINESS a.Petition No. 2008-10: from Wayne Joseph, regarding whether Lincoln Ashida violated Hawai‘i County Code Section 2-83. b.Review of Gifts Disclosure Statement received from Councilmember Bob Jacobson and dated 11/12/08. 6. UNFINISHED BUSINESS a.Discussion on amending the Board’s Rules of Practice and Procedure regarding the imposition of administrative fines pursuant to Ordinance 08-57. b.Ongoing discussion on the Sunshine Law. 7. ANNOUNCEMENTS The next monthly meeting of the Board of Ethics is scheduled for January 14, 2009, at 10:00 a.m. at the Department of Liquor Control’s conference room at 101 Aupuni Street, Suite 230, Hilo. 9. NOTICE TO LOBBYISTS If you are a lobbyist, you must register with the Hawai‘i County Clerk within five days of becoming a lobbyist (Article 15, Section 2-91.3(b), Hawai‘i County Code). A lobbyist means “any individual engaged for pay or other consideration who spends more than five hours in any month or $275 in any six-month period for the purpose of attempting to influence legislative or administrative action by communicating or urging others to communicate with public officials.” (Article 15, Section 2-91.3(a)(6), Hawai‘i County Code.)
