ADA - Title II & S. 504
Referred DCAB to Fair Housing Officer at Office of Housing and
·
Community Development regarding an accommodation issue at State
housing facility;
Received a complaint that a State van was parked in an access aisle at
·
Hilo High no action required;
Responded to a request for information regarding procurement of Sign
·
Language Interpreters from Office of Aging;
Responded to inquiry from DCAB regarding construction of bridge on
·
North Oshiro Road;
Participated in a conference call with Court Appointed Monitor, Paul
·
Sheriff in to discuss Transition Plans in Russell v. the County of Hawaii with
Deputy Corporation Counsel, and Park Planner;
Reviewed available materials from Project Access and conducted
·
research for training for Mass Transit Agency;
Forwarded information to the Hawaii Police Department regarding
·
Effective Communications with Persons who are Deaf.
Title I
Responded to a request for information regarding possible
·
accommodation;
Drafted Memo for Director of Human Resourcess signature advising
·
departments of upcoming Advanced Workshop on Reasonable
Accommodation to be conducted by Charlotte Townsend of DCAB.
Title III
Responded to an inquiry regarding accessible house plans;
·
Responded to an inquiry regarding an accessible bathroom for a new
·
restaurant;
Other ADA Activities
Attended Mayors Committee on People With Disabilities in Hilo;
·
Attended Disability Rights Hawaii Meeting in Hilo and provided VCR.

Equal Opportunity
Devised schedule for non-supervisory Anti-Discrimination and Harassment
·
Training for Winter/Spring2007;
Conducted 2 non-supervisory Anti-Discrimination and Harassment Training
·
Sessions for employees of Hawaii Police Department with a total of 77
participants.
