ADA - Title II & S. 504
Responded to County resident regarding replacement of lost disability
·
Parking Placard;
Responded to County residents request for County to designate a private
·
accessible parking space in a public parking lot;
Informed Department of Parks & Recreation staff of audio conference on
·
accessible play areas;
Conducted research for Office of Housing and Community Development
·
on an assistive device that can be used to record and transcribe many
speakers (there isnt one);
Forwarded request for reasonable accommodation (handrail on curb in
·
County Right of Way) by resident of Lanakila Homes from State Housing to
Director Public Works;
Responded to inquiry re how to correctly refer to a person with mental
·
retardation;
Responded to inquiry re practice of locking accessible change room due
·
to vandalism;
Responded to inquiry re bus passenger coughing incessantly;
·
Responded to inquiry from consultant re how County resident can request
·
curb cut, followed up with Department of Public Works and provided
information;
Responded to inquiry from Disability Rights Hawaii re accessible Porta-
·
Potty at Kings Landing.
Responded to inquiry from R&D re wording for ad for requests for auxiliary
·
aids;
Met with Recreation Specialist and Deputy Corporation Counsel re status
·
of Transition Plans;

Reviewed activities since 2004 regarding ADA activities relative to

Department of Parks and Recreation;

Responded to inquiry regarding how to respond to an employees request

Hosted and attended DCAB workshops How To Survey a Site and

ADAAG Basics;
Developed training for non-supervisory employees on ADA and

Harassment.
