ADA - Title II & S. 504
Asked DPW, Buildings Division, to install signage to show sidewalk closed
·
during construction of Aupuni Center;
Received information that a woman brought her husbands service
·
animal to pool (KCAC) without husband;
Forwarded 2 complaints re unsafe curb cut at Waianuenue and Kaiulani
·
to Administrative Engineer, conducted research and suggested
modification; DPW made modification;
Responded to inquiry regarding Sign Language Interpreters;
·
Responded to two inquiries from Parks & Re creation regarding persons
·
requesting exemption from Equestrian Center lottery based on disability;
Forwarded two requests for application of detectable warnings at old
·
compliant curb cut Haili St. near MC Donalds;
Drafted two memorandums on Program Access Workshop for Directors
·
signature;
Conducted 1 four hour ADA and Law Enforcement training for new police
·
recruits;
Met with Director Parks and Recreation and Deputy Corporation Counsel
·
to discuss request for modification;
Responded to inquiry from Deputy County Clerk re accessible seating
·
areas in Council Chambers;
Agreed to fund purchase of new swimming pool lifts for Kawamoto Pool
·
and KCAC;
Followed up with Corp Counsel re letter requiring ADA modifications to
·
Territorial Building;
Followed up with Administrator, Mass Transit re allegations that buses in
·
Kona were denying service to people with disabilities;
Sent follow-up letter to person who requested ADA modifications to
·
sidewalk in front of East Hawaii Cultural Center.
Other ADA Activities
Attended Hawaii Disability Rights Meeting and reported questions raised
·
to Administrator, Mass Transit Agency;
Drafted Memo for Directors signature on Hawaii Interpreting Services;
·
Provided information on ADA resources to Hilo Coffee Mill owner;
·
Referred a state employee TO Job Accommodation Network re
·
accessible parking
