ADA Inquiries & Complaints Title II
Inquiry from DCAB re Countys submission of construction drawings for 3
·
projects. Determined one was private development, one State project and
one County project was in Environmental Assessment Phase;
Inquiry from Parks & Rec re Hearing Dog at County swimming pool;
·
Inquiry from Parks & Rec re state of chairlift in swimming pool;
·
Inquiry from DCAB re location of Emergency Shelters on Big Island;
·
Inquiry from County resident re availability of accessible transportation in
·
Kailua-Kona; also contacted DCAB to see if State offered waivers for taxi
service;
Consulted DCAB to determine if Housing and Community Development
·
Corporation of Hawaii (HCDCH) had submitted construction drawings for
Lanakila Housing in Hilo;
Received one formal complaint which alleged that PONY baseball league
·
did not accommodate a tournament participant who is deaf at Boys & Girls
Club in Hilo, a Community Development Block Grant (Federal funds)
recipient.

1 Inquiry from counsel from Hawaii Disability Rights re accessibility of Hilo
