ADA Complaints
Met with staff, Department of Public Works on complaint regarding entrance

and interior doors Aupuni Center;
Complaint re lack of accessible parking for Hilo Farmers Market referred to

Department of Public Works;
Complaint re lack of access to Territorial Building during Kuakini Highway
·
construction resolved through practice change; issues regarding pedestrian
safety forwarded to Department of Public Works for follow-up;
Training
Conducted research on ADA requirements for 911 and Public Safety

Answering Points and delivered 2 hour ADA training to new Police
Dispatchers;
Completed Lessons I and II, Reaching Out to Customers With Disabilities from

the Department of Justice.

Circulated Advisory re Cancer in the Workplace and the Americans With

Disabilities Act from the EEOC;
Sent Circular to Department and Agency Heads regarding notification

requirements for use of auxiliary aids for public meetings;
Attended Hawaii Disability Rights Public Meeting in Kailua-Kona;
·
Gave a tourist information re accessible transportation;
·
Wrote letter of commendation to Manager King Kamehameha Hotel re
·
helpfulness of Bell Captain
