menu to have it more young people friendly. A follow up e-mail will be done to all

There were two dates that the hotel suggested. It was December 2004 and June
2005. The hotel preferred the two weeks before December because that is their
slow time. Therefore, the hotel chose December 11, 2004 as the event date.
Another possible date that CSW discussedwas before the election.
The time line is 75 percent completed. Advertising was done in West Hawaii
Today and put together by Rick Asbach, Publisher. An advertisement was also
printed in the Hawaii Tribune Herald, the Hawaii Rotarian Newsletter for the Kona
Rotary Club, Business Bits for the Kona Kohala Chamber of Commerce, and the
North Hawaii News. A press release will be issued reminding everyone that
reservations need to be called in to J. Viernes for the dinner. J. Viernes will be
compiling a list of names and keeping track of payment of those attending.
Aloha Insurance has reserved a table of ten. The owner of Aloha Insurance and

photography artist in West Hawaii, will be giving an 11X14 frame piece to each
honoree. Alert Alarm Hawaii has suggested a free night stay for each honoree at
the Hilton Waikoloa Village or to fund a table for some people that cannot
necessarily afford it. Mayor H. Kims office and Governor L. Lingle have agreed
to prepare a proclamation for each honoree. The Governors Liaison Officer for
West Hawaii, Sharon Ackles, has offered to represent the Governor if she is
unable to attend. Jade Moon, news anchor of KGMB9, has accepted to be the
emcee.
L. Guluzzy reviewed the proposed budget for the Womens Hall of Fame. Leis
and pins are included in the budget. The budget was revised to $1,800 instead
of $1,732. C. Kitaoka expressed concerns whether CSW will have enough funds
to cover expenses for the upcoming 2004 International Womens Leadership
Conference and the opening of the legislature. J. Viernes felt that CSW will have
enough funds to cover the upcoming events and the committee will have a better
estimate of the budget after the essay contest in March.

The meeting was reconvened at 10:42 a.m.

submit their nominees late. Therefore, L. Guluzzy agreed to extend the deadline
to October 29.
L. Guluzzy said her next step is to white out all the names of the nominees, make
copies, and hand out the nominees and judges criteria and scoring sheet to the
judges. Once the winners are determined, a press release will be issued
announcing the winners.
The hotel has offered a $169 kamaaina rate for CSW members and the public
