To advise the Mayor on issues and concerns that give rise to
family domestic violence. This commission shall promote public
awareness, encourage and facilitate inter - agency training and
provide the impetus for preventive measures and education
directed to the community -at- large.
County of Hawaii, Hawaii County Charter Section 4 -4.
Ordinance 97 -111 dated August 29, 1997.
Mayor, no Council confirmation required. Tenure will be
co- terminus with the appointing Mayor.
Minimum nine (9), but not to exceed fifteen (15).
No specific requirement, however, county -wide representation
should be considered.
As required by FVAC by -laws.
Required for advisory board /commission members if requested.
Per Mayor's discretion.
Respected by the community as being community- minded and
oriented. Able to focus on the community needs as a whole
without catering to special or self- interest.
