Purpose: A community -based team who will help guide, promote,
and ensure that the South Kohala Community
Development Plan (CDP) process is meaningful and has
an inclusive community involvement component. Also
help to ensure that the resulting document captures and
reflects community input.
Authority: County of Hawaii General Plan, Section 15.1.
Full Membership: 11 members
Specific Representation:
South Kohala Judicial District.
Requirements:
- Willing to make an 18 -month commitment
- Willing to attend monthly Steering Committee meetings
and to do the work in- between meetings (i.e., reading plan
drafts, talking to community groups & individuals).
- Willing to help organize /attend public involvement
meetings
-Agree to follow meeting ground rules as developed
-Agree to the Steering Committee's Roles and
Responsibilities.
Meetings:
Normally, one meeting per month
Financial Disclosure:
Not required.
Reappointment: Per Mayor's discretion
Qualities: Community- minded, collaborative, aware of South Kohala
District's unique qualities and challenges, able to place
community needs as a whole above one's personal self -
interests.
Current Members: All Terms expire December 31, 2008
