WRITTEN COMMUNICATION Communication No. 06 -106: Survey form from Mark A. Koppell re: TMK (3)- 3 -7 -1 -1 1 . Communication No. 06 -107: Survey form from Ann Kobsa & Sherry Palmer, Koa`e Community Association, Malama O Puna re: Waiele in the ahupua`a of Halepua`a (1 65 acres). Communication No. 06 -108: Survey form from Mike & Irene Kubica re: Honolulu Landing. Communication No. 06 -109: Resolution No. 404 -06 requesting the Mayor and his Administration to enter into negotiations with the owner of the Puapua`a properties makai of Ali`i Drive in order to preserve numerous pre- historic and historic cultural sites and structures, including a burial complex and the Kauakaiakaola heiau which was adopted by the Council of the County of Hawaii on September 7, 2006. Communication No. 06-110: Letter dated September 22, 2006 from the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission to Connie Kiriu in support of the 2% Ballot Initiative. Hawaii County is an Equal Opportunity Employer and Provider Communication No. 06 -1 1 1 : Letter dated September 22, 2006 from Lincoln Ashida, Corporation Counsel, to the Public Access, Open Space and Natural Resources Preservation Commission in response to their letter dated September 22, 2006 regarding the 2% Initiative. Communication No. 06 -1 1 2: Kaua`i's Public Access, Open Space & Natural Resources Preservation Fund Program 2005 -2006 Survey Form received September 26, 2006 from Dave Caylor. Communication No. 06 -1 1 3: Memorandum dated September 22, 2006 from Lincoln Ashida, Corporation Counsel, re: Revised Hawaii State Ethics Commission Flyer relating to Campaign Restrictions for State Officials and State Employees. Communication No. 06-114- Survey form from Michael Varney re: Spencer Beach Park/ Mau`umae acquisition. (Please note that Mr. Varney came to speak at the Commission's September 1 1 , 2006 meeting with regards to Communication No. 06-114). Communication No. 06 -1 1 5: Letter from Constance R. Kiriu, County Clerk, re: Commission's letter dated September 22, 2006 re: 2% ballot initiative. DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE REPORT Personnel from the Department of Finance will answer any questions from the commissioners regarding the Commission's budget or any other financial matters. OFFICE OF THE CORPORATION COUNSEL'S REPORT Deputy Corporation Counsel Amy Self to provide comments and /or information relating to matters of concern to the commission. Letter dated September 27, 2006 to Mayor Harry Kim from Lincoln Ashida, Corporation Counsel re: 2% Initiative on November Ballot. CHAIRPERSON'S REPORT Chairperson to provide comments and /or information relating to matters of concern to the commission. OLD BUSINESS: • Process and apply Assessment Criteria Sheet to complete intake survey forms received by September 5, 2006 along with reassessing the top twelve from 2006 submittal. 2 NEW BUSINESS: Discuss how report will be completed. Schedule a time line for 2007 year. ANNOUNCEMENTS: The next meeting is scheduled for Monday, November 13, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. at the Department of Liquor Control Conference Room, 75 -5722 Hanama Place, Suite 1107, Kailua -Kona, Hawaii • Set Agenda for Monday, November 13, 2006.
