HomeMy WebLinkAbout2009-06-30 Water Board Notice of Public Hearing May 27, 2009 WATER BOARD, COUNTY OF HAWAII NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Water Board of the County of Hawaii will hold a public hearing at the Waimea Community Center, 65-1260 Kawaihae Road, Kamuela,Hawaii, on Tuesday,June 30, 2009, at 9:30 a.m. for the purpose of considering and adopting a new cost of Power Adjustment Clause,pursuant to Hawaii Revised Statutes Chapter 54, Part III, as amended. RATE CHANGE: POWER COST CHARGE The current Power Cost Charge of$2.38 per thousand gallons will be decreased to reflect the reduction in the Department of Water Supply's power costs from November of 2008 through April/May of 2009. The proposed Power Cost Charge will be between$1.93 and$2.38. Because the May 2009 power cost figures are not yet available,the exact proposed rate will be discussed at the public hearing. The approved rate will be-effective the first day of the month after the establishment of the rate by the Water Board. The public may view the Power Cost Charge calculation analysis at 345 Kekuanab'a Street, Hilo,Hawaii, 96720 and at the Department's web site at: www.hawaiidws.or�z . All those desiring to express their views, comments, or submit data on the above matter may do so by submitting statements in writing to the Chairperson of the Water Board of the County on or before the date of the public hearing;but anyone interested may appear in person to submit their data,views, or comments orally before the Water Board at the hearing. Submissions made to the Chairperson prior to the date of the hearing shall be mailed or delivered to the Chairperson in care of the Department of Water Supply, 345 Kekuana6`a Street, Hilo, Hawaii 96720.
