CALL TO ORDER: 9:41 a.m.
CHAIRPERSON MUKAI: Good morning. Will the public hearing of the Water Board on the
proposed Operating Budget and Capital Improvements Budget for the
Department of Water Supply for the Fiscal Year 2010-2011 please come
to order. As a reminder, I would like to ask you all to silence your cell
phones, and if there is public testimony, I'd like to limit testimony to
three minutes.
My name is Dwayne Mukai, Chairman of the Water Board, and the
members of the Board and Staff who are here this morning...I'd like to
introduce the Board members. To my left we have Riley Smith, Bob
Meierdiercks to my right, Joe Reynolds and to the far right, Bryan
Lindsey. Would the Staff like to introduce themselves? (Silence)
Mr. Smith: We have a reporter.

CHAIRPERSON MUKAI: The Water Board, under Section 8-2(c) of the Hawaii County Charter
shall adopt the Operating and Capital Improvements Budget for the
Department of Water Supply; and under the hearing and advertising
provision of Section 10-4, Hawaii County Charter, did publish public
hearing notices in the Hawaii Tribune-Herald and in the West Hawaii
Today on March 5 and 7, 2010.
We are here this morning to accept testimony on the budgets. Is there
anyone in the audience who wishes to testify? For the record, please
state your name and organization, if any.
There being none, I would like to entertain a motion that this public
hearing be closed.
MR. REYNOLDS: So move.
MR. MEIERDIERCKS: Second.
CHAIRPERSON MUKAI: It has been moved and seconded that the public hearing is closed. All
those in favor, say "aye." Opposed, "nay." Motion is carried. Thank
you.
