Public Hearing began at 9:34 a.m.
CHAIRMAN HECK: Will the public hearing of the Water Board on the proposed Operating
Budget and Capital Improvements Budget for the Department of Water
Supply for the Fiscal Year 2006-2007 please come to order. I think
we're all in order.
My name is Loren Heck, I'm Chairman of the Water Board. The
members of the Board and Staff who are here this morning are, George
Harai, Millie Kim, Thomas Goya, Riley Smith, to my right, George
Wilkins, and Bernard "Malu" Konanui.
The Water Board, under Section 8-2(c) of the Hawaii County Charter
shall adopt the Operating and Capital Improvements Budget for the
Department of Water Supply; and under the hearing and advertising
provision of Section 10-4, Hawaii County Charter, did publish public
hearing notices in the Hawaii Tribune Herald and in the West Hawaii
Today on May 26 and 28, 2006.
We are here this morning to accept testimony on the budgets. Is there
anyone in the audience who wishes to testify? For the record, please
state your name and organization, if any. I'll give you a moment, in case
you all want to think about it.
CHAIRMAN HECK: There being none, I would like to entertain a motion that this public
hearing to be closed.
GEORGE WILKINS: So move.
RILEY SMITH: Second.
CHAIRMAN HECK: Okay. It has been moved and seconded that the public hearing is closed.
All those in favor say "aye".
BOARD MEMBERS: Unanimous ayes.
CHAIRMAN HECK: All those opposed? No, okay. Motion is carried, unanimously. Thank
you everybody for coming.
