Subject: Future Growth- County of Hawaii
Good Morning, I am the attorney assigned to the County Redistricting Commission. One of the
considerations the Commission needs to make when drawing boundaries for the 9 Council
Districts is a recognition of future growth in the various geographic locations of the County. In
an attempt to provide any information for the commission to consider when drawing new
District lines your input is requested with respect your assessment of future population growth
in our County. The redrawn district lines will take effect next year and last for 10 years. Please
provide any assessments you may have made with respect to population growth projections.
Please provide this information to Karen Eoff the secretary from the County Clerk's Office who is
assigned to this commission: keoff(@co.hawaii.hi.us. Our next meeting is August 24, 2011. If you
can provide the requested information prior to that time it would be greatly appreciated.
