NEW BUSINESS Pension Application for Tsuyuko Iwane,Widow of Kaoru Iwane Minutes of February 24, 2003 Meeting Pension Board Page 2 Upon questioning by Mr. Werner,Ms. Tanouye responded that item no. 8 of the application was left blank because Mrs. Iwane was applying for widow's benefits and is not the retiree; that she will be receiving the exact amount her late husband was receiving as long as she doesn't remarry; that the deceased(Kaoru Iwane)was a County employee who qualified for benefits under Chapter 88, Part IV of the HRS and met all of the qualifying factors: 1)minimum age of 60 years;2) at least 10 years of service with the County of Hawaii; 3)is ineligible for benefits under the State Retirement System; 4) is not a receipent of any pensions from the State or County; and 5)was a laborer/timekeeper for the Department of Public Works, Road Division for 10 years.
