on status of Esri software and help resources.
COMM. 33: FUTURE GROWTH PROJECTIONS
From Commission Chair Rene Siracusa, dated August 17, 2011, regarding response
to Commissioner's request for growth projections for County of Hawaii.
COMM. 33.1: From Public Works Director Warren Lee, dated August 15, 2011,
transmitting a response to Michael Udovic's request for information on growth
projections.

COMM. 34: CONVENING A REDISTRICTING COMMISSION MEETING IN KONA
From Commission Secretary Karen Eoff, dated August 17, 2011, in response to
request from Commissioners to investigate possible dates and costs associated with
convening a regular Commission meeting at the West Hawaii Civic Center in Kona.
COMM. 34.1: From Out of the Sea Media providing an estimate regarding technical
support for the West Hawaii Civic Center.

COMM. 35: REVIEW AND DISCUSSION OF REDISTRICTING PLANS/MAPS
From Commission Chair Ren6 Siracusa, dated August 16, 2011, requesting the
Commission's review of submitted Redistricting Plans, and begin the process for
elimination of Plans.
COMM. 35.1: From County Clerk Jamae K. K. Kawauchi, dated August 16, 2011,
transmitting Plans 1 through 5, and Plan 17, created by Elections Division
at the request of the Redistricting Commission (Maps attached).
COMM. 35.2: From Commission Chair Ren6 Siracusa, dated August 16, 2011,
requesting further review of previously submitted Plans 6 through 11.
COMM. 35.3: From Commission Chair Ren6 Siracusa, dated August 16, 2011,
transmitting Plans 12-16 (Maps attached).

If for technical or other unanticipated circumstances the video connection cannot be made and/or is
disrupted, the scheduled meeting will continue.
Submitting Testimony: Those wishing to testify in person must register with the Commission
Secretary. Those submitting written testimony at the meeting should bring fourteen (14) copies for
distribution. Testimony may also be submitted: (1)by mail to Karen Eoff, County Council Office,
West Hawaii Civic Center Building A, 74-5044 Ane Keohokalole Highway, Kailua-Kona Hawaii
96740; (2)by facsimile to (808) 329-4786; or(3)by e-mail to keoff @co.hawaii.hi.us. Please submit
separate testimony for each item. Copies will be distributed at the meeting only if they are received
before 12:00 noon on the business day prior to the meeting. All oral and written testimony will be
made a part of the public record.

How to view a map:
1. Go to the County Redistricting website: http://co.hawaii.hi.us/council/reapp/index.htm
2. Click on"Maps" Folder
3. Click on"Online Plans" Folder
4. Choose "Plan"
5. Save Plan (file) to desktop
6. Login to https:Hredistricting.hawaii.gov/
(Note: first-time users must create a user name and password)
7. Choose Template Plan (Hawai`i Council)Hit OK
8. Click on"File" (top left)
9. Click on"Open Local" Folder
10. Select Plan (file)from your desktop
11. Open Plan (file)
How to create a map: (note:Mae users-requires Safari to access software)
1. Read ESRI tutorial materials to get familiar with the software.
2. Using the ESRI software, create an account for yourself.
3. After logging in, click the "Create" tab to begin work on your plan. Save often.
4. Once your plan is completed (and verified using the ESRI online tools in conjunction with the
published committee guidelines), save a local copy to your computer.
To save a local copy:
Click the "File" tab (next to the "Create" tab)
Locate and click the button labeled "Save Local."
Make sure the navigator window is opened to your local Desktop.
Give your plan a name, then click "Save."
To submit your Plan to Redistricting Commission to review:
Locate the file on your Desktop. (Close or minimize the ESRI software loaded in your browser). The file
will have a plan extension (e.g. MyPlan.plan).
Open your email program and create a new email message to HCRC2011 @co.hawaii.hi.us.
Using the email program's attachment feature, attach your .plan file to the email and send.
