COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />yyMSY W /� <br />•' STATE OF HAWAII <br />h o N' +� <br />BILL NO. 138 <br />ORDINANCE NO. ®S 231 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 22, HAWAII COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 <br />EDITION), BY REPEALING ARTICLE 3, DIVISION 2 - RELATING TO BANNER <br />PERMITS, AND REPEALING SECTIONS 22- 1.2(1) DEFINING `BANNER" AND 22- <br />3.1(a) DEFINING `BANNER PERMITS." <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAII: <br />SECTION 1. Section 22 -1.2, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 EDITION), is amended <br />by repealing the definition of "banner ". <br />esrr.�r�ssrannef� <br />SECTION 2. Section 22 -3.1, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 EDITION), is amended <br />to read as follows: <br />"Section 22 -3.1. Types of permits. <br />4" Laj "Publication dispenser permits" include permits to place newspaper stands, news <br />racks, or other dispensers of handbills or other printed or written materials on or over <br />a County sidewalk. <br />{{s}} `Sidewalk use permits" include permits to place garbage receptacles, decorative <br />planters, public benches, required provisions for the disabled or other items which <br />will be placed in or on the County street for non - commercial purposes that are <br />deemed by the director to promote public welfare." <br />SECTION 3. Chapter 22, article 3, division 2, Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 <br />EDITION) is repealed. <br />SECTION 4. The remaining portions of Chapter 22 of the Hawaii County Code 1983 <br />(2005 EDITION) are to be renumbered as appropriate, and the table of contents is to be revised <br />to reflect the foregoing actions. <br />
