COUNTY OF HAWAII <br />STATE OF HAWAII <br />BILL NO. 167 <br />(Draft <br />2) <br />ORDINANCE NO. 05 163 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 24, ARTICLE 4, OF THE HAWAII <br />COUNTY CODE 1983 (2005 EDITION), AS AMENDED, RELATING TO MOTOR <br />VEHICLE DRIVER'S LICENSE FEES <br />BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE COUNTY OF HAWAPI: <br />SECTION 1. Purpose. Pursuant to Act 72, Session Laws of Hawaii 2005, a three -stage <br />graduated provisional driver licensing program for persons under the age of eighteen was <br />established. The purpose of this ordinance is to amend chapter 24, article 4, section 24 -20, <br />Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 Edition), by adding in the new provisional license fee that <br />takes effect on January 9, 2006, pursuant to Act 72. <br />SECTION 2. Chapter 24, article 4, section 24 -20, of the Hawaii County Code 1983 (2005 <br />Edition), is amended to read as follows: <br />"Section 24 -20. Motor vehicle driver's permit and license fees. <br />The following fees are established for the application and renewal of motor vehicle <br />instruction permits and driver's licenses: <br />(a) Application for instruction permit, $10. <br />(b) Application for driver's license or out -of -state transfer: <br />(1) Application for driver's license (not chargeable if applicant presents evidence of <br />having paid to Hawaii County the application for instruction permit fee), $1. <br />
