Ideas for Easy Wins:
1. Allow covered sidewalk cafes and coffee spots
2. Take care of our homeless
3. Plants at L&L Restaurant; better upkeep at Liholiho Park
4. Not easy, but divert bayfront traffic to Komohana join Downtown to the Bay!
5. Subsidized low interest loans for commercial building owners to improve their
property win /win for Hilo
6 Improved flow of traffic to encourage better and safer pedestrian traffic
7. Create safer places for families by addressing drug related issues and the
vagrancy problem
8. Recycle containers on sidewalk
9. Fundraising events to help restore buildings downtown that have been neglected.
The owners of them cannot afford to paint /fix them up. Create grants with help
from County.

Project Ideas:
1. Create a mini park at the Lighthouse. Every beach on the Big Island is a jewel.
2. Multistory parking to allow greater accessibility with landscaping required. We
need to make all new improvements beautiful!
3. Create better looking store fronts need little money and paint
