Sponsored By: The State Office of Planning — Coastal Zone Management Program, the Hawai'i County Council, and the County of Hawai'i Planning Dept. What is the theme of this year's En Vision Downtown Hilo 2025 Town Meeting? Na Lima Hana - Working Hands. It takes many hands to make our Vision a reality. This plan is a community -based plan which depends on the formation of community - government partnerships, collaboration and building community capacity in order to be successfully implemented. What is the En Vision Downtown Hilo 2025 Plan? A Community -Based Vision and Living Action Plan for Downtown Hilo that was adopted by the County Council in 2005. It includes key Focus Areas, Strategies and Actions that the community felt were important in order to achieve the Community Vision by 2025. The six Focus Areas are: Promoting Economic Vitality, Preserving Our Environment, Strengthening and Sustaining Our Community, Encouraging Education, Culture and the Arts, Promoting Health and Safety, and Managing Growth. What is the purpose of the Town Meeting? The Town Meeting is held for the general public and a primary way for Lead Solution Partners (LSPs) or Implementers in the Plan to report on the plan's progress and update the community on what actions they've been working on. It is also a great way to involve new community volunteers and partners. 'r Celebrate the EnVision Downtown Hilo 2025 Community -Based Vision and Living Action Plan! 'r Report on progress of Major Actions Report on 'Easy Wins' accomplished Motivate and inspire people to get involved in working with LSPs on Major Actions and Easy Wins What can we expect to see at the Town Meeting? s'r Networking, Collaborations, and Partnership - building - exchange ideas, energy and resources s'r Key Pad Polling (with electronic wireless devices) of the Audience on valued projects and actions Community Polling by Lead Solution Partners on critical issues, priority actions Recruiting new inspired Lead Solution Partners (LSPs) to coordinate and initiate Major Actions /Easy Wins 'r Recruiting of new Supporting Partners (SPs) to help LSPs 'r Information sharing about the Vision Plan and the 5 -year Living Action Plan update to begin soon for unveiling in early 2010 - expect to hear more and get involved!
